Dinca’s review of Kiss Me by Codi Gary, Cheryl Harper & Jaclyn Hatcher
Contemporary Romance published by Avon 12 Mar 13
You cannot go wrong with these novellas for Valentine’s romances. They are well worth the price. I enjoyed all three and will be looking for more works by these authors.
The Trouble With Sexy by Codi Gray
Lonely, drab Ryan Ashton is tired of hanging in the background. She asks for help and winds up with a total makeover. Hair, nails, makeup, and clothes, including hot lacy underwear crawling up her butt. The story is so funny with unexpected twist and turns. It’s difficult to pick out one little bud of love when it is hidden in a forest of drab.
Grade: A-
Summary:
She’s got a hot new makeover…and a boss to seduce! For prim and proper Ryan Ashton, sexy has always been an elusive quality. But with a little help from a new friend, she just might snag the one man who can set her seductive side loose.

Love Me Tender by Cheryl Harper
This is a super cute story of trying not to make the same mistake twice. It can cost a girl a lifetime of regrets, as Julie Dillon finds out when she shoots down the one man she wants. Finding herself snowed in with Luke Pearce provides her with a second chance.
I find Julie witty with her snarky comebacks and Luke’s optimism refreshing in this fast-paced bedroom novella of Valentine Day bliss.
Grade: A
Summary:
Stuck in a king-size suite with a sexy man… What more could a girl ask for? But for Julie Dillon, being snowed in at an Elvis-themed Memphis hotel with Luke Pearce can’t mean anything but trouble. Too close for comfort gets close enough to taste.

Love, Guns and Heart-Shaped Chocolate by Jaclyn Hatcher
I enjoyed this story so much I would have liked to see it develop into a full-fledged novel instead of the quick novella.
Katie Quinn and Logan Cross are great together. I am not so sure about the back-story of the friend Tracey, and I think Will is a total idiot. But that’s probably what Ms. Hatcher was shooting for in the first place.
The morning after is always something that the couple has to contend with and I feel it’s written well for this novella.
Grade: A
Summary:
Her best friend’s brother just shook up her Valentine’s Day. Katie Quinn just wanted to spend the day watching Jurassic Park and eating chocolate. She certainly had no intention of running into Logan Cross or running for her life! Suddenly caught in the crosshairs of danger, Katie and Logan must get together to find a way out.

‘Kiss Me’ is a good introduction to these authors. Three fast, funny tales of women who do not look forward to being alone and lonely on Valentine’s Day. I am putting Ms Gray, Ms Harper and Ms Hatcher on my Authors to read list. I expect more good things from in the future.
