I’m a huge fan of books that make me laugh out loud, have quirky characters or some kind of strange event that brings the hero and heroine together. That doesn’t mean I will only read books that contain laugh out loud moments, but it is my first choice in books. So I have to say this was a good choice for me. I Love Lacy definitely meets 2 of my requirements.
Lacy Kane is an “aromatheripan” and is in need of someone to help her find her “priceless tiara” that has been stolen. She needs this tiara in order for her to do her job as a food critic. She hires Detective Mason O’Malley, a former Reno police detective who chose to leave police work to open his own private investigation business, to help her retrieve the tiara. When he meets her Mason is instantly attracted to Lacy, although he can’t really understand why, especially since to him she is a bit wacky. Lacy is able to tell immediately, thanks to her heightened sense of smell, that Mason is “the one”. Now she just has to find her tiara and convince Mason that they belong together.
Lacy is a bit wacky, but at the same time she is a likable person. She has spent her entire life believing she is a disappointment to her mother who didn’t want her using her “skill” as an aromatheripan to be a food critic. Mason is a tough as nails guy, who at first thinks Lacy is a few bricks shy of a load as they say, but can’t deny the attraction he instantly feels for Lacy. Mason is your typical, tough guy hero. Lacy and Mason are complete opposites, but hey, opposites attract, right? Mason needs someone to have fun with and Lacy needs someone to accept her for who she is, quirks and all.
The story was a bit predictable in places, but overall this is a cute, fun, fast paced story, with likeable characters, laugh out loud moments and of course, hot sex. I hope to see more stories like this from this author.
