If His Kiss Is Wicked by Jo Goodman
USA Today bestselling author Jo Goodman delivers the unforgettable story of a beautiful young woman who believes someone wants to kill her. Only one man can reveal if she’s truly in peril or if she’s going mad. But will his forbidden kiss lead to a dangerous seduction?
Shy by nature, Emma Hathaway usually leaves the drama to her rebellious cousin, Marisol. But when Emma agrees to meet with her cousin’s secret lover to end the affair, she is pulled into a dangerous game. Now Emma is convinced her involvement in the scandal has put her life in jeopardy. The trouble is none of Emma’s confidantes believe anyone is trying to harm her. As whispers of madness begin, Emma turns to the only person who might be able to help…
The very handsome, barely respectable Restell Gardner has gained a reputation for helping people out of compromising positions. Never one to turn away a lady in need, Restell agrees to help solve the intrigue. Sensing there is more to the green-eyed beauty than meets the eye, Restell feels himself falling for Emma. But he resists succumbing to his passion… at least until he learns the truth about the danger that is haunting her. For if he gives in to temptation to soon, he could lose Emma forever…
I want this! It is historical a new historical from Zebra. But once again a very contemporary cover on a historical. And is that model that guy again…
Start counting the days… This books is FANTASTIC.
Anyone else getting sick of that model yet…it feels like he’s on half the covers turned out on the shelves at the moment
I can’t stand him. Don’t know him. Shouldn’t hate him. But I swear every time I see his face I think one more cover… and I will scream.
But he must be working for some people. geeze
This guy, Nathan Kamp, reminds me A LOT of when John D’Salvo was EVERYWHERE on book covers.
While not over-enthused about the cover – I want the book too! Seems a while since her last one. But nope – don’t want her rushing her writing. I’d rather have one book every 14 months or so of a Jo Goodman. Patience is rewarded with her books.
While not a fan of Goodman, I am liking much shy heroines. I’ll give this a buy.
Thanks Sybil:)
Hey maybe we can like the same book erika! It happens every so often *g*
Ugh, not liking the cover at all. But I always look forward to Jo Goodman. I didn’t care much for her last one, One Forbidden Evening, but loved the one before that, A Season To Be Sinful. The plot on this latest one sounds good.
I’ll buck the trend here and say, Oh BABY – I LOVE THAT COVER! But then I think Nathan Kamp can toast my bread any ol’ time he wants. And butter it. And put some jam on…
You get the picture. 😉
Sorry, I’m with Gwen on this one. Nathan Kamp is still firmly on my “I’d Do Him” list. The problem with D’Salvo was/is that I don’t think his “look” worked well for the historicals and it made his presence TOO noticeable.
Nathan Kamp doesn’t have that problem. He fits the historical covers beautifully (I’m disagreeing with you about the cover of the one above). He adds to the appeal without my first reaction being “Oh look- it’s another Nathan Kamp cover!”
Although, I have to admit that I so identify him with Karen Marie Moning’s covers that it seems WRONG when I spot him on any one else’s books.
I’ve never read Goodman. Sounds interesting. Cover is spiffy. Yet another one to add to the list.
Hey, I don’t get around much. I didn’t even know this guy was on other covers and had a name and everything. At work, we think he’s kinda cute. We keep him hanging on file cabinets and taped to windows. The teenagers I work with think I know him. Yeah, yeah. In their dreams (and mine).
Jo – You could have done worse. 🙂

OMG jo… you never fail to amaze me… he is like on EVERY cover
I hate him muchly but no one listens to me so go team you 🙂
OMG, Gwen! WTF is that cover? ROFL!
I like Nathan Kamp’s look MUCH better than DeSalvo or Fabio, but I do think he’s overused. Super cutie, though.
Just picked this up yesterday at my local Borders. I don’t think it was supposed to be out on the shelves yet, but hey, it was there and I grabbed it. It was a good read. Lots of good character development, rich dialogue and a heroine that I actually didn’t want to strangle. I really like Jo Goodman’s writing, but sometimes the tortured heroines get on my nerves. This one had more strength and although she did have her issues, i felt that the communication and trust that was built between her and the hero was realistic and developed naturally. Anyways, I haven’t posted on here before so I don’t wanna break any rules, but I did write a longer post/review at the AAR boards if anyone wants to know more about the book. 🙂
