**could contain spoilers**
if we get lucky….
1. What is the most surprising question you have ever been asked regarding the brotherhood or the world you created?
So far there aren’t really any huge surprises. There have been some great questions, though. One of the best was asked a signing recently. Someone asked whether the Scribe Virgin’s gift of creation had to be balanced with an act of destruction. I answered then that no, it hadn’t as it was a gift. I believe I answered that incorrectly, however. And no I’m not going to expand on that lololol!
2. You can retire one question and never be asked it again. What is it?
I would have to say Where do you get your ideas?- because my answer always makes me feel so inadequate! LOL I have no clue where the pictures in my head come from. They just make an appearance and I write what I see. I wish I had a better explanation for it, I just don’t.
3. If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?
Mum… I might have had a little more faith that things were going to be okay. That would have meant I’d have been less terrified of failure. But in a way, I wouldn’t change even that. Being scared to fail meant I really wrote (and continue to write) the very best book I can and I think that’s part of the reason the series is doing so well.
4. You can only do one more book. Who’s book is it?
Actually, every book I write like it’s my last. So I’m working on Vicious at the moment and that’s the answer. Ask me in four weeks? It’ll be Phury.
***that is like a serious fucking typo… but fixed LOL puree, phury… same diff 😉 ***
5. What is your favorite curse word?
Gotta go with a classic here: the f-bomb and I are BFFs.
Now it is your turn to ask a question. Or 5… maybe you will get an answer 🙂
Holy shit…
uh so I won’t do those other posts after all… heeeeeeeee
Can I ask a question? Can I? Can I?
Oh and feel free to discuss the book, spoilers and all here.
BUT like I said on the thread… I seriously doubt ward will make it that way to answer questions. So it would be best to keep them here in the Q&A thread or in the intro.
play on…
wonderful infor as I don’t know when I can get this book in my hands
Hi Warden,
OMG!! LR blew me away. Totally floored me. You rock!
Question: Has Lash been kicked out of the training program because of the drugs? Man, I sure would like to see that punk get his. 🙂
Shy
Hi WARDen,
If vampire society has the Scribe Virgin (female) as its deity, why is it so patriarchal? Even in the Brotherhood, it’s held that the males can take more than one shellan (even though they choose not to), while a female can only have one hellren.
P.S. This book has been a total rollercoaster so far! I’m even starting to like Rehv, LOL!
I notice there are “family” type stories for all of the Brothers, but then you note that the Brothers must have a Chosen for their mother. Am I confusing things? So all these brothers were born from Chosen? And how does that fit in to future Brothers?
Thanks bunches!!
The Chosen are virgins aren’t they? And they use to be used to feed the brotherhood. hmmm I don’t recall anything about them being their mommies.
someone will come along I am sure… I pulled down all four books to do reviews on the three I haven’t and have been sidetracked sqqquuueeee’ing over the mail.
You know, some day I will actually post this in the correct thread. I have now posted this question TWICE and neither time was in the right thread!! LOL
Dearest WARDen,
First, let me say thank you for all the books that are and will be.
Second, the questions:
Will we actually get to see a transition for one of the trainees? Not like Blay’s this time where it was a done deal, but actually get to see it like we did Butch?
Also, the SV was a lot more hands-on this time around – do we get to see her continue to be hands-on? ‘Cause that was rockin’ cool.
MUAH!,
Neith
You just make your interviews so much fun here and JR love your answering, fun as well! Hey, if you could invite 5 authors, either living or dead, that mean alot to you or inspired you or anything, who would you invite and what you’d like to ask them?
I’m not good with asking questions but I love reading them!
Questions I’ve been dying to ask!
In LR, all the Brothers fanged Butch during the ceremony. Why then can they not find the other Brothers when they are missing? Back in Z’s book, Z had to have Bella find Phury, but wouldn’t he be able to if there had been a blood exchange?
I noticed the dresses too. I thought that was awesome.
Yeah, Butch’s daddy and Manny… hmmmm. The obvious question.
Jane and Janie… how does Butch feel about V’s gal having the same name as his dead sister? And who did identify the sister’s body? Are we SURE it was actually Janie???? (I think you know where my sick mind is going with this one…)
Hi! I had another signing and am now back in the saddle. I apologize for not being faster at answering these! And thank you as always for your support…….
Phury is definately still pining for Bella and you’ll see a lot of him in V’s book. *sigh* V’s mate has not been in any other books, no. She’s awesome by the way! I don’t know if Butch will ever learn the ID of his father. He might, I’m just not sure. Mary is very active with Safe House. She and Marissa basically run it together. And yeah, she and Rhage are ADORABLE! Z does read what Bella writes. The joke is, Bella actually got an article into The New Yorker- under a pseudonym of course! Rehv’s book is after Phury’s and Xhex has her own way of dealing with the symphath urges. Manny is definately NOT Butch’s father LOL. And come on, is ANYONE like the SV? NO! LOL My book signings are on my message boards which can be accessed through my website JRWard.com. You’ll hear about Rehv’s tats in his book- needless to say they are fab especially the red stars on his chest. Same with JM’s tats- you’ll see em in his book. 🙂 Oh! And Z just meant that Butch was physically big enough to qualify for the Brotherhood.
If I missed anything, I’ll be back to check!!
Heh heh heh oh you might see another transition! 😉 No, V’s female isn’t Butch’s sister- but that’s a good one! The blood shared during the induction ceremony for the Brotherhood is not sufficient to be a locator (SP?) kind of thing- plus the drinking had been done decades if not centuries before in the case of the Phury and the other Brothers. The Chosen are not all virgins, no. They have had offspring and have been the lovers of Brothers in the past.
Me too, I can’t stand Lash. UGH what a bitch-tard. Yes, it was because of the drugs. The society is male-focused in some regards, true, but not all. The more than one female thing is because bonded males generally cannot tolerate another male being with their female whereas some females can share. Thanks re: the USAToday list! LR made the extended NYTimes list as well. As for writing the books, everything is a challenge and I don’t deconstruct the books- I just write the scenes in my head. The categories are the same way- just not as vivid for me. OMG I love that line of Rehv’s too! I was so laughing at the computer! LOLOLOL Butch will never be recognized by the glymera, ever. He’s got too much human in him. He will never ascend to the throne for the same reason. Marissa’s line is next- and you raise an interesting question. There has never been a queen in the sense of a female ruler. Interesting to contemplate the implications. However, I know that Wrath lives a good long life and has offspring via Beth so… not an issue. And yes, his first born son is called Wrath as tradition dictates. I despise Havers. Sall I’m saying. Vishous would win at chess. But only if Jane kept her clothes on LOLOLOL.
The new series is under the J.R. Ward name. I can’t tell you about the shellans! LOLOLOL Ven come on girlie! 🙂 Havers sucks. I already said that though but I can’t say it enough. BLEH on him.
“Vishous would win at chess. But only if Jane kept her clothes on LOLOLOL.”
Oooh, strip chess! 😀
LOL I was in the middle of emailing you and whining about being ignored… who knew you were over here…
I bes all impressed and shit. The comments were spamed no idea why. So they are there now. Want one deleted?
