Sins of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Grade: B-
Sensuality: Hot
I have only read Fantasy Lover and two short stories in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter world. Since I can’t ever seem to read a series in order, I figured Sins of the Night was as good a place as any to revisit the world Kenyon created. I wasn’t disappointed and am glad I’ve been glom-buying this series, but Sins of the Night does seem to be building more on the back-story and has a “file away – you will need this information later” feel to it.
Kenyon does provide an Author Forward, instructing readers that The Beginning, a short story about Acheron (aka Ash, and the first Dark Hunter ever created), should be read as the second in this lengthy series – reading it prior to Sins of the Night really helped. (the short story is actually printed following the book, or you can read it at her website). I like it when an author tries to make things easy for me, and hey two stories for the price of one, so score! It does let the cat out of the bag regarding who Alexion is, although honestly since the author does it, I can’t see that it was a big secret.

and just so I can make kristie and maili’s eyes roll to the back of their heads… When does Ash’s books come out.
hee look at me, next I will be trying to cast eve and whatshisname.
My eyes would have rolled if I thought you were serious – you’re not are you, No! No! not another Ashite.
Caught your second review and although I won’t read the book π I enjoyed your review.
LOL! I agree with Kristie–fun review. π
My eyes have just packed their bags and left. Thank you for making them roll so much. I’ll get a new pair, but please try not to do it to me again.
Not sentence. PARAGRAPH!
*head banging against the bed board*
Crap. The next sentence is missing:
Love your review, btw. It’s a fab idea to put in links to your reviews. Please do keep on doing it. π xx
Hmm, there are apparently some in-jokes here that I’m not in on. Just in case you really want to know about Ash’s books, he will apparently be the hero in two (?) that will come out in 2007.

Damn I thought it was 2006! If I never read another book I want to read Ash’s.
The question of when Ash’s books are coming out, pop up on tons of message boards and it drives kristie nuts. I think she said the casting of the two from Robb’s books is another often asked question.
Maili and cw just like to make fun of my liking the dark hunter books.
all in good fun of course π
Yes, see 2007. That means for 2 YEARS people are going to be going on and on and on (2 years worth of ons) about having to wait for Ash’s story (whine whine whine). I used to read the dark hunter books but ever since he had a tatoo come to life as whatever the hell the incredibly annoying Simi is, well, that was too much of an eye roll. For me, that’s when Kenyon jumped the shark so to speak. Plus she(Kenyon) seems more interested in introducing yet even more characters for future books then she does in writing the current story. OK, having offended Kenyon lovers I’ll go away now π
I’m back – yeah, there is no one who could adequetley play Roarke.
Going away again
Hey, I just read Night Play, my first Kenyon, and really liked it, so there.
Hey, this dipping into Kenyon’s backlist is just an extension of my current MacGregor binge, so double-there. (VBG) I likes what I likes and that’s all there is to it.
I think Sins of the Night is in my TBR basket if my daughter hasn’t taken off with it. She’s on a “shapeshifters & romance” kick at the moment. (G)
Sigh, too many books to read and too little time to blog. Tell the truth, though, I’ve been working on my site again instead of blogging. Dare I say triple-there???? (G)
Actually, I’ve also been a little under the weather due to some new medication that absolutely threw me for a loop, so I’m just now catching up on a passle of blogs that I’ve missed in the last few days.
Off to read some more now.
Kristie kristie kristie I beat krisite would love KM. And would heart ash so.

YAY Bev! We can be together in our MacGregor lurve. hee and drive k, c, and m to drink π
