This may be a bit shocking, so brace yourself. This is the first ever Jo Goodman review where I am not going to gush. Not that I didn’t like it. It just wasn’t what I have come to expect when I pick up a Goodman book. I’m not disillusioned. Not yet anyway. I figure every author deserves a second chance. Or a third. Or a fourth. I am really beginning to wonder if there is a Jo Goodman book that I won’t like in existence. I’m thinking not. I continue to be obsessed impressed with Goodman’s ability to draw me into the story.

It surprised me that we hadn’t yet reviewed this book on TGTBTU. We’ve talked about it a lot, and several ducks have it on their list of “all time great books of 2007″ but we haven’t reviewed it. Let me rectify that.
Did I like the book? Yes. Was it the best book of 2007 for me? Not really. Before some of you get out the tar and feathers, let me explain myself.

Sybil has been nice enough to indulge me by agreeing take one of my Jo Goodman reviews to post here at TGTBTU.
I am a huuuuuuge fangirl of Jo Goodman. And while I may have jumped on the bandwagon a bit late, I am now fully aboard and don’t intend on leaving. I really can’t believe how long it took me to discover this fantabulous author and for that very reason, I have made it my mission to talk about Jo Goodman ad nauseum. I don’t give ”Grade A” (5 out of 5, on Book Binge) reviews lightly, but I’ve given more “A reviews” to Jo Goodman than all my other ”A reviews” combined.

A Season to be Sinful part deux *spoilers*

I was waiting for this question to come up on the AAR board. It will be interesting to see how or if people respond to it.
Really Sherry starts the book trying to end it with his mistress, but does have a fuck for the road. So him screwing the anon widow on the way to the country wasn’t a big deal for me. Which I went into in more detail on the AAR review board.
I think I would have had trouble with it if the kiss had happened first and then he screwed the random widow than the way it happened in the book.

A Season to be Sinful by Jo Goodman
It has always seemed to me that the word count for Jo Goodman’s books is higher than for other Zebra authors - or that her editor exercises less control with her red pen. Sometimes it can weigh the book down - at other times it makes for a very interesting, although generally angst filled, long journey in the world the author has created. I am happy to say the latter applies to A Season to be Sinful.
Alexander Henry Grantham, Viscount Sheridan (aka Sherry) is spending the evening with his mistress at Covent Gardens. Due to his mind being on ending the affair, wrapping up business in London and running off to his country estate for reasons unknown, he is unaware of the drama being played out around him, in which he is the target. The event that occurs quickly ends his night.

It seems to be if you look on line but I can’t find it. I am gonna have to give in and order it and then it will be in the store.
