This was my first venture into the Harlequin Spice line, but wanted to read this one because Cathryn Fox is one of my favorite authors. I wasn’t sure really what to expect because I occasionally am disappointed in short stories especially if they are really good. It’s like I’m really getting into the story and the “blam” that’s it, no more, THE END. If’s a not so good story then the author doesn’t have much time to redeem the story that they could in a longer version. In this story we are not only dealing with the fact that it is a short story and the author has only a limited time to create a story where we love the characters, the plot is exciting, the sex is hot and the ending is the HEA we as romance readers crave, but two authors that have to do all this in the same amount of space. I read the first Nocturne Bite, Racing the Moon by Michele Hauf, and now I have tried a Spice Brief. They're good for a quick introduction to an author's style without buying an entire anthology. They're short enough you can satisfy your craving for a quick read-and-relax without getting sucked into "Just one more chapter" land and the digital format makes them highly portable. I like books set in Vegas, and for an erotic romance, it's almost a go-to place, isn't it? The book blurb caught my interest - and really, who wouldn't love a naughty encounter with two sexy men? I'm also always open to reading another Spice release - it's still rather new to me, and I'm glad I read this brief.

Review: Reason Enough by Megan Hart

I wondered if I'd like this novelette when I realized it was a follow-up to Dirty, the story of Dan and Elle, which I have not read. I also wondered if the fact it's a Brief would limit the story in any way, which sometimes happens with short stories. It didn't at all. Ms. Hart does a very good job of letting a new reader know what's in Elle's and Dan's pasts and of giving you the emotion necessary for dealing with a sometimes touchy subject.
