Veena’s review of See Me (Phoenix, Book 4) by Stacey Kennedy
Erotic Romance published by Stacey Kennedy Publishing 24 May 22

Lottie and Hunt are hot. Their chemistry is sizzling and lust leaps at the reader through the pages of this book. By day Hunt is a homicide detective planning to be the NYPD Commissioner someday.  By night Hunt watches Lottie enact his hottest fantasies with other men in the voyeuristic sex club where they are both members.  All this sizzling heat comes to a head in the most unexpected ways, giving readers a nice touch of suspense along the way.

Lottie, it seems, has secrets. As it happens, Lottie isn’t even her real name. She has hidden her past so cleverly that not even the quality of the Phoenix Club’s vetting process can detect who she really is. Then one day, when she finally feels safe, her apartment is broken into and a package delivered to her door lets her know that her past has caught up with her. Even though she’s been keeping Hunt at arm’s length, he’s the first person she thinks about calling, setting in motion the big reveal of all her secrets.

Her father is dead, though it seems he did know where she was, as evidenced by the packet she receives through his lawyers.  Her brothers now also know where she is and come calling on her in New York. The past that she wants to keep far from Hunt might derail Hunt’s promising career and future plans.  Hunt, however, is not going to let her distance herself from him. So they’ve got to seek help from their powerful friends to find a win-win for both of them.

Lottie and Hunt are a compelling couple together, and it’s fun to catch up with all the other characters in the series.  There definitely is a strong erotic element to this story. So if this is something that offends you as a reader, then this might not be for you; but, otherwise, I devoured this story from start to finish in one sitting. A great addition to the series.

Grade: A

Summary:

Lottie Harlow spends her days as a dog walker and her nights losing herself in wild fantasies at Phoenix, a members-only, voyeuristic sex club in New York City. Her anonymous existence is precisely planned. She must lay low, or risk facing the consequences of her family’s criminal past. She’s a ghost, and she likes it that way. But detective Hunt Walker is determined to uncover her secrets…

Hunt has always loved his nights at Phoenix, but they’re no longer enough. He wants more. He wants a relationship. He wants Lottie. He’s wanted her for years. The only problem? Lottie keeps him at a careful distance, never letting him get too close, ignoring the sizzling heat burning between them. He knows she’s intrigued by him, but she’s scared. He just can’t figure out why… But when enemies from her past come seeking revenge for her family’s deal gone wrong, Lottie’s secrets are revealed, and so is the explosive passion they’ve been fighting.

Soon, lust leads the way to love, but when Lottie’s brothers start threatening her, the line between right and wrong is blurred. Hunt becomes torn between his duty to his badge and his need to keep Lottie safe. But he’ll only get one chance to prove to Lottie that she’s worth fighting for… and that their love is worth the risk.
