Book CoverVeena’s review of All or Nothing At All (The Billionaire Builders, Book 3) by Jennifer Probst
Contemporary Romance published by Gallery Books 25 Jul 17

The brothers Pierce were devastated when their mom died in a car accident on vacation with another man. Life for the family was never the same again as the brothers drifted apart and settled in different parts of the country.  Their father’s death and his will requiring them to work together for a period at the family business brings them back to the house where they grew up. Tristan has watched his two brothers find love and happiness and has finally come to terms with their mother’s death. Does Tristan have a second chance with Sydney Green, his teenage sweetheart whom he left behind for the challenge of big-city living?Sydney has loved Tristan since she met him, even though she was just eight years old at the time.  Their friendship turned into love, at least on her part, while they sneaked around under the radar enjoying an active physical relationship.  Then Tristan drops his bombshell and moves to New York without hearing Sydney’s news that she’s about to share with him. Three months later she’s married to another man, ending their romance and shortly thereafter she’s a mom.  She’s a mainstay at Pierce Brothers where she’s learned the ins and outs of the business.

Tristan is the only holdout when she puts together a winning proposition to ask for the well-deserved CFO slot in the company.  Despite his antagonism, he’s impressed with how well she handles herself in a difficult negotiation and her business plan she develops.  Since her business plan consists of flipping a few houses, they’re forced to work together since that is Tristan’s specialty. I loved being the fly on the wall as Sydney negotiates with the big-city wheeler and dealer and Tristan’s reactions through out that meeting.  Proximity, nature, and lust finally have their way with Tristan, putting together a romantic assault to win a place in Sydney’s bed.  Along the way there are some cute moments with Sydney’s daughter.  Then comes the big reveal and Tristan retreats a giant step backward.  He wants Sydney, but his heart and love are too big a price to pay for her.

The author does a superb job of telling the story of their past as the present unfolds.  There are some great moments with the pink sparkle and the PTA mom from hell.  Thank god for family and great friends who really side with Sydney and tell the mom how it really is.  Bam Bam the psycho horse will bring a smile to your face.  This story is a very satisfactory conclusion to the series.
