Book CoverVeena’s review of Wedded, Bedded, Betrayed by Michelle Smart
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 01 Jun 16

Gabriele and his family have paid a steep price for their friendship with the Ricci family. Now Gabriele is out for revenge and he’s found the perfect instrument in Elena Ricci, the much beloved only daughter. Sound familiar?  It is a popular theme with only one possible outcome.

Elena starts off completely hostile to Gabriele, even if he does unwittingly save her life at their first meeting.  She has lived a somewhat isolated life in Italy far from her father and brothers, who are in South America. She refuses to believe her beloved father guilty of any crimes, let alone that he set up the Mantegnas to take the fall for his crimes. Determined to prove Gabriele wrong, she sets out to prove her father’s innocence.

I love the fireworks between Gabriele and Elena. He’s just as determined to show her the evidence that convicted him and his father and how it was manufactured.  Poor Elena, as the evidence mounts and her feelings for Gabriele change, it’s a choice between family and love. Which choice will Elena make?

All in all, a nicely paced story about love which overcomes all obstacles and cools the burning need for vengeance.

Grade: B

Summary:

The man she loves to hate

Elena Ricci never expected her two-day getaway to end in blackmail, forced marriage and the need for a successor. But that’s what happens when Gabriele Mantegna kidnaps her!

With Gabriele holding documents that threaten her family’s reputation, there’s nothing fiery Elena won’t do to stop their release. Including marrying the man who would betray her.

But as Elena’s body ignites with Gabriele’s every touch, what will happen when the chemistry that blazes as brightly as their hatred leads to a legacy that will last a lifetime?

Conveniently wedded, passionately bedded!
