Book CoverTabs’ review of Fight to the Finish (First to Fight, Book 3) by Jeanette Murray
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 01 Mar 16

In this conclusion to the First to Fight series, the boxing Marines head to the All Military Games and JAG lawyer Graham and single mother Kara finally explore their attraction.

Kara and Graham have had an attraction since book one in this series, but Kara has multiple reasons to not want to start anything romantic with anyone. Graham is persistent, though, and they click pretty well once they start going. Kara’s reluctance does get a bit tiring and the fast pace that their relationship takes, once it starts moving along, is somewhat unbelievable.

There has been an overarching suspense plot of sorts throughout this series. Some unknown party has been vandalizing the Marines’ gym. It’s a pretty thin plot to be spreading over three books and it doesn’t become any more compelling as it concludes. In fact, it becomes down right silly as a bunch of grown-ass Marines effectively decide to “eff the police” and solve the mystery on their own, darnit! Okay, Scooby gang, good luck with that one.

This series pretty much goes out on a whimper. The All Military games, which are the point of the whole series, take a serious backseat to the rest of the proceedings and pretty much just serve as window dressing. The romance progresses faster than seems realistic. Kara and Graham are nice characters, so I wanted to like their story, but I just wasn’t feeling it.
