Veena’s review of All He Desires (All or Nothing, Book 3) by C.C. Gibbs
Contemporary Erotic Romance published by Forever Publishing 04 Nov 14

After all the hype surrounding this series, I definitely wanted to get my hands on it. In retrospect, I can’t understand  why or what has people so hyped. There is absolutely no story, and, as far as erotic romance is concerned, I believe this falls far below the bar.

Losing the baby that they are so excited about in the last book is inevitable, because  there would be no plot for this book otherwise.  But, then again, I am not too sure that the author actually needs a plot since the novel is a series of sexual encounters hung together with a very lose thread. Dominic definitely lives up to the arrogance of the extremely rich and definitely proves the adage that everything in this world has a price.  I actually feel for him when Kate is losing the baby and he can’t give her the one thing that she wants.  As the story continues on and Dominic throws his wealth and connections around, it gets to be too much and almost made me wish for at least one person to stand firm against the power of Dominic’s money.

Their sex scenes are explosive, but after a while, unfortunately, they become repetitive. When Kate insists on a baby the moment she’s cleared by the doctor and Dominic takes her to his pied-a-terre, I find his actions and behavior abominable.  The author does a good job of trying to mitigate this by giving the readers a good insight into his fears of losing Kate, but, coupled with his arrogance, it just does nothing to redeem him in any way.

The one light in this series is Kate with her fiery nature and determination to stand up for what she wants.  But then, however, Dominic knows how to bring her to heel, which is just too sad. I like her sass in the first book when she’s so determined to walk away from him and his money, which led me to want to read this book. Perhaps it is just its unavailability here in the US that titillated my imagination.

The book definitely does not appeal, but what’s with the ending? It’s such a strange ending.  What is the author planning with Dominic’s niece?

Grade: C-
