Veena’s review of Jaguar Hunt (Jaguar Shifters, Book 3) by Terry Spear
Paranormal Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 3 Jun 14

I recall a friend recently telling me that she loves shifter stories that feature claws and fur coats. She’s definitely going to love this one, because our characters run around in their fur in the jungle and definitely use their claws.

Tammy Anderson and Dave Patterson reluctantly team up when her search for a missing jaguar collides with his search for a pair of missing teenage twins. It’s a good thing that Tammy couldn’t shake Dave off her back, since she’s going to need his protection and companionship when their trip to the jungle proves deadly.

The twins and their antics strike a fun note in the midst of the menace that seems to be lurking behind the trees. On the one hand, you have the very creative use of the condoms that Dave brought, in combination with Tammy’s very red lipstick that the twins liberated from her baggage, and, on the other hand, there’s definitely someone hunting them, if the near misses on their lives are any indication. Dave’s solution to have the gorgeous Tammy sunbathing in a diminutive swim suit on their private patio as bait to bring the twins in is ingenious.

As their unlikely partnership expands and they follow the clues, it seems like there’s a lot wrong with the agency that polices the jaguar shifters. The missing jaguar is only a small cog in a much larger conspiracy. Can Dave get past Tammy’s bristly barriers to get her to accept his protection? And just not for this one time? And what’s with both of their pasts rearing up their ugly heads in the midst of their investigation?

This is a light-hearted story. Tammy and Dave are great characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the twins and all the mischief they get into, especially with Dave’s XXL condoms and Tammy’s red lipstick.

Grade: B

Summary:

Two deadly predators…

As a feline Enforcer, Tammy Anderson has one objective: locate the missing jaguar and return it to the States. She doesn’t have time for distractions, and she definitely doesn’t have time for sexy shifters with more muscles than sense.

One hot mission…

Everyone and their brother has warned JAG agent David Patterson that Tammy is Ms. Hands-Off…which only makes him more determined to get very hands-on. But things heat up in the steamy jungles of Belize and their simple mission gets a whole lot more complicated. Now it’s going to take everything David’s got to protect the gorgeous she-cat who somehow managed to claw her way past his defenses…and into his heart.
