Veena’s review of All You Need is Love (Green Mountain, Book 1) by Marie Force
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 4 Feb 14

This is a totally different type of book from the fast paced detective books from this author that I’m familiar with. I’m inspired to take a vacation in Vermont after reading about all the wonderful things to see and do there. Be prepared however cell phone signals are spotty and the share of televisions per family is zero to 1 unlike the norm of 3 to 4 that we city girls are used to and I am definitely not up to coming face to face or is it head on with a moose as Cameron did. Horrors of horrors the unnatural town actually appeared to be more concerned about the moose than the human who seemed to get the worse of the encounter. There definitely are compensations because there must be something in the water that causes the men to be so hunky.

Cameron is the product of modern day city living with a cell phone tied to her umbilical cord who considers the various characters of the television family shows members of her extended family. She’s in town to bid on a web-site for the family owned and run store that apparently fifty percent of the partnership is totally against. They are very content thank you very much to live at their pace and at their current success rate. Poor Cameron here she is reeling from her encounter with a moose that’s left her brand new one day old BMW totaled only to find out that she could have saved herself a trip.

Its a good thing that she’s made of stern stuff and soon makes the presentation of her life and actually causes Will Abbott her rescuer from the Moose encounter a lot of second thoughts. Will is a wonderful character. He knows exactly what he wants and needs out of life and is settled and content with what he has. He definitely does not need Cameron like a jolt to disrupt his life and get him out of the rut.

This is a slow paced romance as Will and Cameron explore their feelings for each other. She talks to people, takes pictures and develops her ideas to build the website. She starts to make in-roads not only into his heart but also into the hearts of her family and they in hers. He takes her around not just the town of Butler but also around the various other locations in the state.

The elephant in the room of course is that she has a business, friends and family in New York City. Her cell phone is her umbilical cord though she has done much better without it during her sojourn in Butler. His life is here in this small town where he knows everyone and every one knows him. He’d be like a fish out of water in New York.

I thoroughly enjoyed this slow paced loving. The ending was inevitable but reading it all come together and forging relationships with all the various members of the Abbott family was restful.

Grade: B

The family-run Green Mountain Country Store is cherished by locals as a reminder of simpler times. The Abbott children are determined to keep it that way—but their father has different plans…

When Cameron Murphy heads to Vermont to build a website for a new client, she imagines a more relaxing trip than she gets. After wrecking her car by colliding with the town moose, she meets the most handsome hero she’s ever seen. Unfortunately, her savior, Will Abbott, is also the son of her client—and he wants nothing to do with the new website or the city girl creating it.

For all Will cares, Cameron can march her fancy boots right out of town and out of his family’s business. But he can’t seem to get her out of his head. As his family’s dispute heats up, so does the chemistry between the two, leaving them wondering if simple is better after all—especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
