Perhaps it’s just me and I can’t wrap my mind around the storyline but I am going to go back and try to continue to read and see if I can change my opinion.

I agree the beginning does feel very different from her flashback, but I got sucked right in. I can’t wait for the next one. It is pretty much a ‘to be continued’, so I am not sure if you would have found what you wanted if you had finished it.
