While you’re right that the book could work without the romance, Vixen, I don’t think I’d want to read it that way. It took their fighting and their sacrifices to a much higher level, made their will to survive and their surviving love more poignant. Custo’s story is going to be one heck of a read too!

I loved this one! I thought this book would have worked fine or better without the romance though. I loved the fantasy and suspense and I can’t wait for Shadow Fall.
