I actually have read Ecstasy, but if you asked what it was about, I would struggled to tell you much...hehehe, I admit to having an attention span and memory of a carrot. But if I can't remember then I deem it not memorable. ;-) For the books I really adore, never have that problem. Strangely I did remember Guin and Malaya and Magnus...which is why I bought both Pleasure and Rapture at the same time, but jumped into Pleasure first cos I was eager for the Guin/Malaya story. As for Sagan, couldn't help myself...skim, flip, skim...In general I don't think for any book I should have to read them in any order, the story should just draw you in. In fact I read everything out of order based on whim and preference of story plot! As for Rapture, imagine how weary I was with all that sex after reading them back to back...If they need that much sex they should give up their priestly ways, and it could just be me, but I find their whole sexual education thing icky and enough with the hairbrushing exercise, I'm just not aroused! (lol) I can appreciate that there are people out there that would love them. However I think I'm bias because I've never been fully drawn into Jacquelyn Frank's Shadowdweller's world...oh well. *shrugs*

Hmm...not sure I would rate this an A+ or close to an A for that matter. The Sagan and Valera was a page skimmer for me. I've not read this author's stuff for a while, so I was lost as to who the heck Sagan was and his relevance, I just wasn't interested though I tried to be. :-( The Guin and Malaya story was the only reason I bought this book. Their story was very hot and gets the tick as far as raunch factor, but I eventually found the focus on the sexual aspect of the stories exhausting. I'm all for raunchy books, love them to bits, but I need to feel the story as well, this one just didn't feel complete to me. Anyway, I was confused as to the 1 title 2 story format which seemed to reinforce there wasn't enough to tell. I felt the Guin and Malaya story had potential to be so much better...I couldn't compare her to Nalini Singh but I was content enough. Having had my rant, and I hope it's ok to express my wonky opinion, I do appreciate the time you put into the review Sandy M. :-)

It sounds as though you didn't read the first two books, Linny, if you didn't know who Sagan was in the story. As I said in my review, at the end of Rapture (and he's involved quite a bit in that story as well as the first book, Ecstasy), he's been captured by the enemy, so the next part of the story was logically his. And we actually need Sagan and Val's story for the end of Guin and Malaya's story, if you'll recall what happened to Guin. I think if you read the first two books, you'll see it all come together for you.

As far as sexual exhaustion, lol, okay. I can see that. But also remember these men haven't had sex in.....centuries! They're making up for lost time and doing a damn good job of it! At least IMHO!
