I dunno if you subscribe to comments and will get this or not, but I just finished A Holiday Romance last night and loved it. B+/A- range for me too. Thanks for all these great recommendations. I’m completely hooked on categories. I’ve read a long string of them right in a row and they’ve all been A or B reads.

Wendy, I love your reviews. I have had the same experiences with romance reading friends in regards to Harlequins. I like reading them too, but I get eye-rolls and smarmy comments. Book snobbery exists with romance fans too. Which is funny cuz then they get defensive when literary types demean romance books! Ha!
Anyway, this sounds like a good book, I’ll have to pick it up!

JenB: Carrie Alexander also writes “hot” (mostly for Blaze) but I just adore her sweet-er stories for HSR. I’ve got one or two still in the TBR, but of her HSR books that I have read, I don’t think I’ve graded any of them below a B.

I really liked this story a lot, mostly because it didn’t have any of the category tropes (secret babies, amnesia, tycoons, virgin secretaries etc.) that naysayers of the format tend to throw in my face. A good, solid contemporary read.

SOLD! Just ordered a copy. It looks absolutely fabulous. I’m a sucker for this storyline. Great review as always, Wendy. I adore your dedication to the much-ignored and too-often-maligned category romance.
