I loved this book too. Bryony at times just broke my heart and Leo was just so sweet – most of the time. Ms Thomas is such a terrific writer she really sucks you into time and place. And she inevitably increases my vocabulary with words I’ve never seen before (pellucid? alluvial?)! It’s amazing that English was not her first language the way she uses it . . .

I’m eager to start this, and am not at all surprised it got an A, considering how much I enjoyed the two previous titles.
