Orlando was my fourth RT and perhaps the best! RT offers something for everyone - while the male models, free books, and dance parties are fun, I prefer the author panels. I enjoy hearing the authors talk about their craft. Plus the SOS Military Mixer is a loving tribute to our vets - it is inspirational to learn which readers and authors have military roots! So start saving for next year; consider cost effiective solutions - share a ride and/or room (RT will help you find a room-mate or you can post on the message boards). I recommend the reader with one car to take the train or bus into Columbus so she can stay overnight. I also recommend staying at the convention hotel - you won't want to waste any time on dragging goodie bags and costumes to/fro another hotel. .

On a personal note, I'm sure Columbus has a few sites, but I do recommend NYC and Philly.

I'm not from Columbus, but from just over the state line in PA, and if things go as planned I will be there but probably only on Sat for the signing (1 car in household kinda limits things). I have been to COlumjbus before though, and there are a few things to see, as for prices - yeah it's up there, personally IF I could afford to go I would be staying at the Ramada Plaza becuase fo the rates.

Lime can answer your Columbus questions - after she surfaces from finals, poor thing.

I haven't been to RT but I'm more tempted every year, thanks to all the reports from the attendees. :-) Maybe next year will be my chance to try it.

I don't know the answer to your question, but thanks for this writeup. I've never been to any of the conventions, and so this was helpful to get your take on them.
