This does sound like a good one! I haven' read an HSR before, but like the idea of a longer format category. Will have to head over to eHarlequin and check it out.

Thanks, Wendy!

WandaSue: LOL - yeah the Christmas theme in an April release was a little out there. Maybe HQ's holiday release schedule was full up?

I love it when an author can take me on a journey and show me the growth of a character. That's what Andrews does here (I think) with Nina. I wanted to smack her early on and tell her to find her big girl panties....but by the end of this story? Holy cow! I loved the ending when Nina finds herself confronting Dillon about their feelings for each other. Damn, now I want to reread it LOL

Allie's book, His Secret Agenda, is coming out in October. I loved, loved, loved the brief glimpses of her character we got in this story. Can't wait!

I read this and very much enjoyed the skillful manner in which the author conveyed -- show, don't tell -- Nina's doormat personality, which was, IMO, conditioned early on by very controlling parents. At no time, however, did I sense any self-pity from Nina, nor that she considered herself a victim. Yes, "weary" is a good word to describe her. It was Dillon Ward, however, who began to open her eyes to her weakness, and quietly urge her to grow a spine -- which she did, and to help Dillon in return. And did I mention that HE is a great hero? Yes, a convict, but with good reason. Just an overall well-written story, start to finish. Concur 100% with A it was given here! The snowy Christmas theme sort of jarred me, though, reading it in April.
