I feel like you do, lightlyfell, a little emotion goes a long way! And, Stacy, tortured heroes are my favorite to read – the more tortured they are the better, so I guess that’s why I liked Deke as well Kimber did. And I actually only found her immature when it came to sex but she was willing to learn. I felt she had smarts and was quick thinking outside the bedroom. She saved her father with her quick thinking and she knew enough to tell Jesse he needed to clean his own life up. And she’s only in her early 20s, so to me she’s actually quite mature for her age. And this is my only Black book so far, so I’m sure she has others that are better just like most authors do. But for what it was, this book isn’t all that bad! That’s why it got the B. It definitely stays with some readers, so I think I was right in not giving it a C.

I read it but it wasn’t anywhere as enjoyable as “Wicked Ties”. I found Deke to be way too tortured and Kimber to be too immature – I wanted to smack her. Maybe it’s because I see this kinda thing too often in menage stories. But I’m glad you found it enjoyable. It just wasn’t my thing. I would continue to read her stuff since I did enjoy WT so much.

Thanks to this review, when I was in a used bookstore yesterday, I picked this up. I love it! Yeah, it’s steamy and you will not like it if menage bothers you, but I’ve read worse. There actually is a plot and a reason for Deke’s fears. I need emotion with my erotic, and this book has that, so I’m happy. I’m going to check out her backlist too.

Definitely to each their own. This book is no worse than any other, if SB want to consider it lolporn! It’s entertainment, for heaven’s sake, and that’ the spirit in which I read it. Yeah, it’s not the best I’ve read, but it’s fine for what it is! LOL, SB need to lighten up!

I gave this book away, I did try but really could not finish it. Each to their own. For a different review try the Smartbitches..warning only open the lolporn if away from small children and animals.
