Now I can’t look at a bicycle or motorcycle without giggling inappropriately!

Steve at thesneeze.com has ruined “Guess How Much I Love You” with permanently messing up “little brown nut hair” in my brain. I laugh so much I can’t get thru the book now. So why shouldn’t Wendy mess up “cockstand” for me!

I’ve read the first two Outlander novels, but it’s been awhile. Can’t believe I’d forget cockstand!

It probably is Scottish, but I’ve learned my lesson about googling such terms. Much better to wait until someone comes along and says, “Of course it’s Scottish, you great prat.”

About “cockstand” — I guess you haven’t read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? I know the word appears in the first book, when the hero, Jamie, tells the heroine, Claire, that he gets a terrible one after a battle. Not to worry: Claire tames it immediately.

Must be a Scottish thing?
