I’d told myself I would stay away from the review because I haven’t even read A GENTLEMAN’S WAGER yet, but in the end I couldn’t help peeking. Very bad habit of mine. But I don’t think I saw spoilers, and now I got an A. That’s enough to make me happy.

I TRIED to write a review without even mild spoilers. But damned if I could figure out how to do it!

Sorry about that you guys. I THINK I haven’t given the most important parts away though. I TRIED to keep it to a minimum while still telling you what I found so compelling about the book.

I actually picked up AGW at my local B&N b/c of the review ya’ll wrote for it. I was really surprised that I liked it. I haven’t actually bought a Black Lace book in years b/c I got tired of the crap. I’ll have to check this one out to it seems. )

Ooo I had to skim because I don’t do spoilers. As soon as I know something happens, I can’t dredge up the proper interest in reading the book carefully – but it sounds great! I’ve been looking for books with substance – of course, in two weeks, I might want to only curl up with hop on pop books. And suck my thumb, in the fetal position. We shall see.

The review for A Gentleman’s Wager and the one here for Phantasmagoria has really caught my interest in these books. They seem fascinating, complex, and the latter work sounds somewhat challenging as a read. Have been searching for books outside my norm and heard a bit about these on visits to Lustbites.
