Her Cinderella Complex by Jenna Bayley BurkeLaura J’s review of Her Cinderella Complex by Jenna Bayley Burke
Contemporary romance eBook released by Samhain 19 Feb 08

This is a fantastic story with very strong characters who were beautifully written and I immediately fell in love with both of them.

After working for him for a while, Curtis offers Heather a deal that would keep her finacially secure for the rest of her life – as long as she agrees to pose as his fiancé, keeping the paparazzi off his back.  Heather accepts, but when a photo shoot goes wrong, she gets a case of “cold feet” and runs.  Curtis can’t decide if he should go after her.  He’s confused by Heather’s actions and can’t understand why she would give up everything in their contract.

When Curtis finally goes after her, and catches her, he convinces Heather to give it a trial run to see how things could be.   It becomes a battle of wills as Heather holds fast that she loves him and wants the same from him.  He tries to convince her that they can be friends and lovers but love isn’t necessary.

l loved Heather’s faith in the fairy tale that could be.  There are times she wavers in that faith, but deep down she is confident that everyone could have a HEA.  She won’t settle for anything less in her relationship from Curtis and she knows he will love her – she just has to patient.

Curtis is a wonderful hero for Heather, and, even though he doesn’t believe he has the capacity to love, he likes her.  Curtis respects Heather for who she is.   You’re confident that when Curtis is finally able to admit that he could love, he is going love Heather forever, and it is going to be the happy-ever-after kind of love.

There are a few gaps at the beginning of the book, but Ms Burke still made the story flow without making me feel as if I was losing part of the story.  I’m really looking forward to reading more from Jenna Bayley Burke.
