I love this book, too. I understand what you mean about Charlie unnecessarily tormenting Ethan toward the end, but I don't blame her for doing that. Right or wrong, I think I would have done the same thing. I think maybe she felt she <i>had</i> to do that just to make sure that her neediness had nothing to do with how he felt about her? I understand what you mean about Charlie unnecessarily tormenting Ethan toward the end, but I don’t blame her for doing that. Right or wrong, I think I would have done the same thing.
