Liquid into Samhain

samhain_120x90.jpgI think I have asked this before… maybe…

What’s up with all the Liquid Silver Books being republished at Samhain? Are they just being cleaned up editing wise and then printed? Do they have to sell a certain number to go to print or is it a sure thing?

And why didn’t LSB print them? Does LSB not do print?

But most importantly… does it say if the book is expanded and worth rebuying?

LSB does have one of the shorter contract terms I’ve seen in epubbing, which means you get the rights back sooner and then can take it somewhere else.

LSB does do print, but only full length books, I don’t know about Samhain.

As for whether or not they’re the same book – that, I don’t know.

Hey, Syb, I’m one of the authors that originally had books published at LSB that were republished at Samhain.
My reasons for doing so were purely business related. Samhain puts every book in print over a certain word count. These books are available online, and in brick and mortar stores (Borders/Waldenbooks). My goal is to quit my FT job and write full time and I can’t do that without a presence in book stores. To that end, I made the decision to pull the first three books in the Malloy series and republish them with Samhain.
LSB is chocked full of great folks and I still have one book published with them. Totally amicable relationship.
Only one of my republished books, The Bounty, was expanded with Samhain. The Prize and The Reward were reedited only.
